ChatMapper is an easy to use software tool for writing and testing nonlinear scenarios. It is a popular authoring tool in the games industry used by some of the largest studios in the world to manage character dialog for games on Xbox and PlayStation.
ChatMapper is a Microsoft Windows utility application. ChatMapper was acquired by Hyperspace, exported files from ChatMapper can be manually uploaded to the Hyperspace dashboard as scenarios.
As a utility application ChatMapper can be freely installed without any authentication. A unique license key to unlock commercial features is provided based on Name and Email. User specific license keys are generated by Hyperspace and supplied on request.
For license keys requests or change of seat details submit an email or ticket to the Hyperspace support system.

After subscribing to a commercial package you will gain access to the ChatMapper Installer .EXE file for Microsoft Windows. An .MSI download is also provided as an alternative if you are having problems with .EXE download.
Projects are saved locally to the user’s chosen Documents folder on installation. No data is sent or stored in the cloud.
Project files are saved in binary compressed .cmp files. Data is future-proofed by ChatMapper with the ability to export in human-readable XML format.
The ChatMapper application may check for software updates upon opening, sending the license key and application version number to the Hyperspace server. No automatic software updates are triggered.
To install Chat Mapper, first ensure that you meet the System Requirements, then run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
The installation will check to ensure that you have the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 installed on your computer. If you don't, the installer will attempt to install it automatically using your Internet connection. Note that Windows 7 and newer should have the .NET Framework installed by default.
