Custom environments

The Hyperspace Metaverse Platform includes many 3D templates set-up and ready to use. However sometimes you may want to use your own custom environments for a space.

Here are some of the options available:

Check the pre-built templates

Check the 3D search engine

Use the 360 template with your own 360 image or video

Check 3D model stores / sites

Build a custom 3d model

Digital twin scanning

Check the pre-built templates

Visit the Dashboard and try Create new space. Here you will find a selection of pre-built templates that may suit your needs.

The templates can be made to look significantly different by adding branding and furnishings and by changing the 360 background.

Check the 3D search engine

The Hyperspace Metaverse Platform includes a search engine of 3D content, some content from LearnBrite and also from SketchFab and Google Poly. You may find a room or scene that suits your needs in the 3D search engine.

Visit the Dashboard and try Create new space using the Blank template

Follow the full guide here https://hyperspace.mv/academy/building-from-a-blank-template/

Use the 360 template with your own 360 image or video

360 images and video offer a way to deliver photographic immersive experiences. However they do have the limitation that you can look around but not walk around freely like you do in 3D models. Effectively you are anchored in one central spot (where the camera was when the image or video was captured).

Follow the full guide here https://hyperspace.mv/academy/creating-a-360/

Check 3D model stores / sites

You may be able to find a 3D model that suits your needs on various sites on the internet. Be aware that rendered images on other sites may not reflect the look of a 3D model when used in the real-time 3D Platform. Also be aware that models should be low polygon count and optimized for use on the web, complex 3D models may not perform well on all end-user devices.

Various 3D assets formats are supported as described here https://hyperspace.mv/academy/3d-models/

A list of 3D model store / sites is available in the 3D Models tab here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15tLirD5mTXWsiQ55dlHjEs1Edwl-jSBYNNThfNF0de4/edit?usp=sharing

Build a custom 3d model

Use a 3D authoring tool to build from scratch. Use any 3D authoring tool that allows export to common open standard 3D file formats as described here https://hyperspace.mv/academy/3d-models/

Be aware that models should be low polygon count and optimized for use on the web, complex 3D models may not perform well on all end-user devices.

Digital twin scanning

Scan a real-world location with your phone to create a photo-realistic digital twin 3D model.

SketchFab provides a great list of available apps that support 3D scanning https://help.sketchfab.com/hc/en-us/articles/202591983-3D-Scanning-Software
