Managing raised hands as an organizer
Raise Hand (Available from 2.16+)
The raise hand feature allows the users to visibly request attention from organizers, maybe to participate in a quick poll or to show they have questions.
Organizers are able to quickly see who has their hand raised as well as lower them from the participants menu.
This feature is disabled by default but it can be enabled in the space settings.
Enabling the feature
The feature can be enabled by going into the space settings, Experimental settings -> Raise Hand.
Raising your hand
Once the feature is enabled, a hand icon will be visible on the left side of the bottom bar, next to the chat. Just clicking on that icon will set the status of the user to “hand raised” and a hand icon will be also visible on top of the avatar in the 3D space. The status can be disabled just by clicking on the same icon again.
The status won’t persist across sessions. This means the user’s avatar will go back to the initial state (hand not raised) after reloading or navigating to another space.
Managing raised hands as an organizer
Whenever a user raises their hand, a persistent notification will be shown on the top right corner of the screen. It will display how many users have this state on.
This will also be visible on the participants list, as a small icon next to users who have their hand raised. Organizers can lower participants’ hands from the participants list by clicking on the “Lower hand” button that can be found in the available actions for that participant.
